5.0 Lollipop - worth it?

Okay, so I will admit I am not awake in the morning, not until I get a few cups of caffeine in me. As such, I touched the wrong button one fine morning and allowed my Samsung Galaxy S5 to upgrade to 5.0 Lollipop.

Well, this caused a few problems. Several ofmy apps were summarily uninstalled, without my permission, I might add. Several more started acting a bit wonky but they settled down after a while. The big issue was with my MobiSystems OfficeSuite 8.

This suite, which worked very well before, now has big issues. It will no longer connect to any cloud service, forcing me to do things in a very difficult, round-about way. I have to use the DropBox app to download the file I need or upload it. Also, as long as Calibri font is okay, no issue there . . . NOT! I have transitioned to Google Docs, Sheets and Drive to continue to do my work at this point.

As an aside, I am considering suing MobiSystems for failure to provide a working app that was paid for with good money.

So, if you haven't upgraded, don't do it. Nothing to be gained, a huge amount to be lost.

Warning about an update from Micro$soft for Win7 users

A timely PSA from the Old Warhorse;

Warning! if you have Win7, do not install Update KB3033929. It will make your computer go into an endless reboot cycle. It can be fixed but I recommend not installing this epic fail M$ update until M$ fixes it.
If you did install it on a computer and now have that reboot problem, try the instructions at this site:

How To fix Win7 Update Problem Related To KB3033929

Don't say the Old Warhorse didn't warn you.

Day Four . . .

I'm currently on the fourth day of my kidney stone episode. I missed a day of work today, not happy about that but what can you do? No fun, as I've stated before. Hopefully , my (phone) appointment on Wednesday will give me a date for Litho.

Kidney Stones . . .

Let me tell ya, kidney stones are no joke. Well, have an 8mm stone in my left kidney that needs to be taken care of. Probably lithotripsy will be used to blast this beast.

Anyway, I'm shot. going to bed now. See all y'all later.

You Probably Noticed . . .

. . . I am busy trying to integrate the new blog with my site. If you find a broken navigation link, just go back to the home page. The links there are all good. Mostly it's the links for the blog that are busted/broken/fubar.

UPDATE: I've been through the important (in use) pages so all the blog links will work. Enjoy!

More Info Gleaned

So, a bit of digging and I found some information about how to create a subdomain and point this blog at it. Might be the information I was looking for. I'll give this a try on the weekend, when I have time to devote to blown up web pages. I'll need to fix the blog links on each page. Fun.

A reminder; if it goes "Poof!", I can fix it. I think . . .

First Post and Some Background For You

So, having no luck with adding a commenting system to my current blog (Thingamablog), I am going to give this a try. In the coming days, I will be integrating this with my current website The Website Of Kellan Meig'h

anyway, this is a new adventure for me, not having to have messed with my site in a while. I will admit that I'm probably not as proficient with code as I once was so If this goes "Poof!", you know why.

Never fear, though. I have a backup of my site on my hard drive.
